Fishing Fleet at Corea, Maine
Subject: A quintessential fishing village, Corea, Maine, is home to a fleet of lobster boats, each with its colour-coded buoys and fishing territory. When caught, lobsters are measured immediately and thrown back if they are too small or too large. The ‘goldilocks’ sized are kept and sold to lobster pounds who also supply the bait. Lobsters can smell and stinky bait is best.
IMAGE: The photo was shot from such a pound with gear, seagulls and boats pointing into the ocean breeze.A wide-angle shot, originally in sharp focus, rendered for artistic purposes to present a watercolour look and feel.
